Prince of Persia Trilogy
“Most people think time is like a river that flows swift and sure in one direction. But I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you: they are wrong. Time is an ocean in a storm.”
This prince has no name, at least not mentioned in the video games. He is the prince of a Persian King who, through his own prideful nature and desire for glory, releases the Sands of Time into the world. He begins the trilogy as an arrogant young man, brash, stupid, and impulsive. With the help of a Maharajah’s daughter, Farah, he seeks to fix his mistakes and turn back time, but at a greater cost of his life. I’m a huge fan of the second game, but not of the Prince’s turn to the emo, dark, rage-filled wreck he becomes. His character arc comes full circle in the finale of the trilogy which blends the Prince’s dark nature with his compassionate side. I love his banter with Farah in the first and third games and I feel that their relationship is what really makes these games.
